Support
Haus XMPP is early software and is being tested now. If something breaks, looks wrong or confuses you, email ellie@xmpp.haus. In TestFlight you can also take a screenshot and choose "Share Beta Feedback".
What to include
- the app version and build, from Settings › About;
- your device and its iOS or macOS version;
- your XMPP server's domain, and which app the other person uses, if the problem involves them;
- what you did, what you expected and what happened instead.
Never send your password or the content of private conversations.
Security problems
If you find a way to read, change or fake someone's messages, or anything else that weakens encryption, email ellie@xmpp.haus with "security" in the subject and don't publish it until it is fixed.
Blocking and reporting
To stop someone contacting you, open the chat, tap their name and choose Block. Report blocks them too and sends a spam or abuse report to the administrators of your XMPP server, who are the people able to act on it. To report one message, touch and hold it (on the Mac, right-click it) and choose Report. You can unblock people in Settings › Blocked.
Servers
Haus XMPP works with an account on any standard XMPP server. Notifications need a server that supports push (XEP-0357), which most current ejabberd and Prosody setups do. If you don't have an account yet, many public servers offer free registration.
